Job Purpose
VulcanForms is currently seeking a Manufacturing Specialist – Level 1 (Material Handler) – 2nd Shift based in Devens, Massachusetts, which will perform general physical activities to load, unload, sort, and move materials by hand or using material handling equipment. Individuals should be self-motivated, accurate, thorough, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment. Individuals will be working in a state-of-the-art clean, climate-controlled environment. Duties also include general maintenance, cleaning, organization of supplies, inventory control, and ERP system documentation.

Manage verification, acceptance, and counting of productive hardware as needed. Input, update and maintain accurate inventory records in systems as required. Review and file documentation.

Please note that the Manufacturing Specialist – Level 1 position is shift-based: the 1st Shift runs from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm; the 2nd Shift runs 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm; the 3rd Shift runs 11:00 pm to 7:30 am.

Key Accountabilities
  • Pick and Pack all parts and materials as required.
  • Provide all material handling, kitting, organization, and presentation.
  • Update purchase order status and or inventory records in the system.
  • Resolve discrepancies between documentation, records, or counts, and follow up with employees, suppliers, or customers as needed.
  • Stage and organize products for inventory or shipment to lessen handling and storage requirements. Utilize best practices in locating and maintaining physical inventory.
  • Manage shipping supplies as required, requisitioning, or ordering as needed.
  • Resolve discrepancies between documentation, records, or counts, and follow up with employees, suppliers, or customers as needed.
  • Participate in company-sponsored cross-functional continuous improvement teams.
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks, including 5S implementation.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Assist and support the Production team as required and any other tasks assigned by management.
  • Adhere to and enforce the company's health & safety policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to and enforce the company's quality policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • H.S. Diploma with 3-5 years of manufacturing or materials management experience.
  • Knowledge of major couriers – FedEx, UPS, etc., including how to operate their respective software packages and website processes
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Physically capable of performing the duties of the job and able to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to complete training as a forklift operator
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files
  • Authorized to work within the U.S. without restrictions or sponsorship now or in the future (U.S. Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident of the U.S. (U.S. green card holder))
Preferred
  • Associate Degree or higher or equivalent work experience
  • Epicor ERP System experience
  • Forklift operator experience/certification
  • Knowledge of Import/Export Compliance, Customs documentation, ITAR, Incoterms (Commercial Invoices, Shipper Export Declaration, etc.)
  • Quickbooks experience
  • Knowledge of 5S
  • Strong sense of ownership
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
