VulcanForms is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer for our Burlington, MA location.

Job Purpose
As a Machine Learning Engineer on our Data Science team at VulcanForms, you will develop and maintain ML pipelines, deploy, and monitor ML models / data analytics in production for our cutting-edge metal Additive Manufacturing factory. You will have a unique opportunity to push the frontier of ML applications in additive manufacturing.

Key Accountabilities
  • Build, maintain and manage end-to-end ML training and deployment pipelines
  • Deploy, monitor, and optimize ML models and data analytics in the edge, on-premises and in the cloud for Additive Manufacturing
  • Develop software that integrate ML pipelines within the additive manufacturing process
  • Develop and deploy data visualizations and dashboards
  • Run machine learning tests and experiments
  • Perform statistical analysis and fine-tuning using test results
  • Train and retrain systems when necessary
  • Extend existing ML libraries and frameworks
  • Working with our additive manufacturing and process control experts to identify and solve technical pain-points to expand the application of Machine Learning and data analysis in AM
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field with 2+ years of relevant work experience or Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
  • Hands-on experience training, and deploying machine learning models
  • Proficient in Python
  • Strong programming skills, familiarity with software development cycles, solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens, or lawful Permanent Residents of the U.S. (Green Card Holders)
Preferred
  • Familiarity with at least one of the Deep Learning frameworks (i.e., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with open-source ML ecosystems
  • Experience with setting up microservices
  • Knowledge of JavaScript for data visualization applications is a plus
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup company environment
